What is it? AI is the broad field of creating computer systems that can recognize patterns, make predictions, generate content, make recommendations, or take actions.
Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI are different approaches or areas within AI.
Think of it like... Think of AI like a student who has studied millions of examples. When you give it something new, it looks for patterns similar to what it has seen before and produces a useful result.

How it works 1 · Input Receive information A photo, document, message, or sensor reading arrives.
2 · Process Find patterns Rules or learned patterns are applied.
3 · Decide or generate Create a result The system predicts, recommends, classifies, answers, or creates.
4 · Output Return the result It goes to the user or another system.
5 · Review Check when needed A person verifies important or uncertain results.
Real-world examples Everyday example · Photo recognition Input: a photo. AI: recognizes visual patterns. Output: a face, object, or scene label.
Business example · Invoice processing Input: an invoice. AI: reads fields and flags unusual values. Output: structured data and exceptions for review.
What it is NOT AI ≠ ChatGPT AI: A broad field of computer systems that perform tasks associated with intelligence.
ChatGPT: One AI product.
AI ≠ Fixed-rule automation Automation: Can simply follow predefined if/then rules.
AI: Often uses pattern recognition, prediction, classification, or generation.
AI ≠ The human mind AI: Can perform tasks that appear intelligent.
The human mind: AI does not think or understand exactly like a human.
